I'm trying to figure out what exact monitor is in my carnevil, the serial# is 986399, there a bunch of other numbers on it too 40023 860767, CAB04-1128425" PO#503216 S/N856, 2G27009 5Y5 RXE553 930B6 TCE. Now I dont know what any of this means or how to figure it out so hopefully someone here can help....... Does anyone know if this game is worth putting more money in to it or is it a high maintanance game, it has already broken down twice in less than a year, had to put a new hard drive and now monitor problems, the game was turning on and you could hear it play but screen was black now game turns on but you only hear it sometimes. I know some wires in monitor chassis burnt out so I know that needs fixin, but the no sound sometimes I am hoping is not the PCB game board.............anyone???

It uses a CGA(15k)low res monitor.

Carnevil is a fun game and it is worth keeping alive if the PCB board is not broken, most of the time it is cheaper just to find another working PCB on eBay then having it fixed. I bought one about six years ago and it is still working great.

Push on all the chips, making sure there all in tight, check the wires going to the speakers and make sure the power supple voltage is about 5.15v

Hey, thanks for the response............as far as the monitor goes, is there a certain CGA(15k)low res monitor that I need e.g.(wells gardner, electrohome, GO7, etc.) could you match any of numbers I posted?...........anyway thanks again

Any 15K monitor brand will work fine. The only thing that will not work is the LCD monitors or a bad used monitor with week color.
